Fortunatly it is possible to define the heap space with the <strong>SOLR_HEAP<\/strong> environment variable.<\/p>\n<p>If you also don&#8217;t want to risk to loose your data you should also map the <strong>volume \/opt\/solr\/server\/solr\/mycores<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is the docker-compose.yml file that I am using:<\/p>\n<pre>version: '3.1'\nservices:\n  solr:\n    image: \"solr:alpine\"\n    ports:\n    - \"8983:8983\"\n    volumes:\n    - \/srv\/solr:\/opt\/solr\/server\/solr\/mycores\n    environment:\n    - SOLR_HEAP=1G\n    entrypoint:\n    - docker-entrypoint.sh\n    - solr-precreate\n    - mycore\n    restart: always\n\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Initially I used the Solr standard settings but with a big amout of data, I was running out of heap space.
