{"id":4312,"date":"2022-01-24T10:10:31","date_gmt":"2022-01-24T09:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/home\/?p=4312"},"modified":"2022-01-24T10:56:10","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T09:56:10","slug":"using-the-esp32-lyrat-audio-board-with-arduino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/home\/2022\/01\/24\/using-the-esp32-lyrat-audio-board-with-arduino\/","title":{"rendered":"Using the ESP32 LyraT Audio Board with Arduino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/home\/2021\/12\/06\/the-ai-thinker-audio-kit-experience-or-nothing-is-right\/\">AI Thinker AudioKit<\/a> I wanted to make sure that my libraries also work with the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.espressif.com\/projects\/esp-adf\/en\/latest\/design-guide\/dev-boards\/board-esp32-lyrat-v4.3.html\">ESP32 LyraT Board<\/a> from Espressif.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/esp32_lyrat-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/esp32_lyrat-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/esp32_lyrat-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/esp32_lyrat-120x120.jpg 120w, https:\/\/www.pschatzmann.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/esp32_lyrat.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There were basically just 2 stumbling blocks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Deploying Code<\/strong>: From the AudioKit I was used that I can plug in the UART cable and  upload the code from Arduino w\/o pushing any buttons. This is different in LyraT. You need to connect <strong>both the UART and Power Cable<\/strong> and then you need to execute the following sequence in order to set the board into <strong>upload mode<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>push down the BOOT button<\/li>\n<li>push down the RST button<\/li>\n<li>release the RST button<\/li>\n<li>release the BOOT button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Using the SD drive<\/strong>: The <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.espressif.com\/projects\/esp-idf\/en\/latest\/esp32\/api-reference\/peripherals\/sdmmc_host.html\">documentation<\/a> states that all the switches must be in the <strong>OFF<\/strong> position.
